Asheville Regional Real Estate... Where's it going?!
386 Melrose Rd. Lake Lure, NC - 65 acres - MLS# 3908681 - Listed by Brandi King at KW Professionals The Asheville region has got it all... from old houses to barns, to large parcels of land, riverfront, lakefront, mountain view or city life. The state of the world and Asheville as a whole will forever be a mystery. Outside of some major, unexpected global event, though... where is the Asheville region heading? UP as far as the eye can see... Maybe not as high as the "balloon..." ;) But Up! Everyone will have their own opinion of the market. There are so many experts calling on what's about to happen. People can see a crash coming, similar to 2008, though are they really seeing that or are they just afraid that it's going to happen again? Real estate will always be influenced by the global economy, though many markets are hyper-local. For instance, Asheville is a "climate-protected" region. We get minor flooding, forest fires every now and then, though we don't get major hurricanes, tornadoes or draughts. For those of you that don't know, Asheville is considerate a temperate rain forest. It stays pretty wet here! To learn more about the climate and mountains in our region, click here! As global warming happens (regardless of your opinions on what we should do about it or the cause of it), major weather events are likely going to be on the rise. Asheville creates a haven from the fear of impending doom (at least as far as natural disasters go lol). We rarely have seismic activity of any kind, either! Our region is climate protected, BEAUTIFUL, a wonderful tourist destination, Air BnB haven and a renter's disaster. In Economics, the number one rule we learn is supply and demand. The supply is not keeping up with the demand in our region. I don't see this happening any time soon. Investors are consistently buying up real estate to charge hefty long-term rental rates are renovate into an Air BnB. With inventory still at historical lows, even with rising interest rates, our area seems very well insulated as a solid investment for the near future. We may see a small dip, though long-term, our area is set up for large equity gains! For a more in-depth market analysis, click here! And if you want to learn more about what Asheville has to offer, from real estate to local events and hiking trails, I'm happy to help! This is all an opinion, of course, and other opinions may differ. As a local expert, I am consistently up-to-date on market trends and will update my community and clients if I notice any major shifts.
